Ubiparipovic signs with Impact for 2012 season By Charles Posted on November 1, 2011 Comments Off on Ubiparipovic signs with Impact for 2012 season 0 534 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Sinisa UbiparipovicThe Montreal Impact now has its fourth player under contract for the 2012 MLS season, and copy editors around Canada will curse the club for it. American midfielder Sinisa Ubiparipovic, who spent half of the 2011 NASL season with the Impact, agreed to a deal with the club on Tuesday. He joins defender Nelson Rivas, defender/midfielder Hassoun Camara and keeper Evan Bush as the guys who are locked up for the club’s inaugural MLS campaign. Ubiparipovic made 69 MLS appearances with the New York Red Bulls between 2007 and 2010, so he is expected to bring some veteran leadership to the team. He led the Impact in assists in 2011 (with four, not a large number by any stretch) and was named the team’s Newcomer of the Year in its final NASL season. “I’m extremely happy to be joining the Impact family for Major League Soccer,” said Ubiparipovic in a release issued by the club. “I am looking forward to helping this team make the transition into the new league, and also start working on winning championships.”
