David Ferreira
Last week, FC Dallas faced not one, but two, daunting challenges. Go into BC Place and try to steal three points from the Whitecaps, then go into arguably the toughest stadium in the league for a road team to tread, Rio Tinto, and take three points from Real Salt Lake.

The Hoops did both, with 2010 MLS MVP David Ferreira providing the spark. And, by setting up both goals in the win over the Whitecaps, then scoring the last-gasp winner against Real Salt Lake, he won the Player of the Week vote hands-down.

Ferreira nabbed 15 of the 18 first-place votes cast by members of the North American Soccer Reporters.

Ferreira set up both goals in a 2-0 win over Vancouver, in the same city where his career was detoured in 2011, after he broke his ankle at Empire Stadium.

Then, after setting up the first goal, he broke the 1-1 deadlock with Real Salt Lake with a fantastic top-corner strike deep into stoppage time. With those wins, FCD trails the Whitecaps by just five points for the final playoff spot in the West, but Vancouver still does have a game in hand.

How The 11 voted:
Ferreira. It’s great to see one of the true stars of MLS returning to his top form after such a long injury struggle. When Ferreira is on, he is a joy to watch, even though Whitecaps and RSL supporters might not be in agreement.
