FC Edmonton has announced the 18-man roster for its next two matches, Saturday against the Atlanta Silverbacks and Wednesday in Cary, N.C. against the RailHawks.

Coach Harry Sinkgraven brought a full roster with him to begin the road trip, which included the NASL-opening 2-1 win over Fort Lauderdale. But, according to plan, this week he brought the roster down to 18 for the remaining games. The other players go back to Edmonton and train there.

Veteran defender, nursing a knee injury, was sent back. And, strikers Paul Craig and Michael Cox, who were both ruled out of the Fort Lauderdale date due to nagging injuries, were also sent back.

Third-choice goalkeeper Jaswinder Gill, American midfielder Shawn Chin and defender Eddy Sidra, who came in as a sub in the 2-1 win over Fort Lauderdale, also were left off the roster for the next two games. Chin had a knock to his calf and wasn’t able to fully participate in training this week.

Sidra signed just a week before the opening game, so he likely still needs some time to adjust to the new job. The former Energie Cottbus outside back and Canadian national-team prospect is expected to make a major impact as the season progresses.

Trialists Kyle Porter and Adrian Leroy still not have signed contracts as of Friday afternoon, and, obviously aren’t on the roster for the next two games.
