Family matters force Tsiskaridze to leave the Impact fold By Charles Posted on July 19, 2011 Comments Off on Family matters force Tsiskaridze to leave the Impact fold 0 683 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Zurab TsiskaridzeThe Montreal Impact has lost defender Zurab Tsiskaridze. The team announced Tuesday that the Georgian-born, naturalized American has gone back to the United States to deal with family matters. The club has said it is not sure if the defender will be back or not this season. Tsiskaridze has already been out of the lineup for the past two games, so technical director and coach Nick De Santis has already been shuffling the lineup to accommodate for the defender’s absence. “Due to family issues, I feel that I should be home. I’m not here mentally right now,” said Tsiskaridze in a release. “I think it would not be fair for my teammates who work hard, if I stay here. I don’t want to bring negative energy and not be focused on the task. It’s tough for me to leave, but it’s even tougher for me not to be with my family.” Tsiskaridze had played in 10 matches this year, starting in eight of them, for an Impact side that is six points adrift of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers for the sixth and final NASL playoff spot.
