Salgado, who the Whitecaps took with the first pick in the 2011 Superdraft, will be in London until Dec. 4. “This is a great opportunity for Omar to continue with his development,” said head coach Martin Rennie in a release issued by the club. “Not only has he grown as a player in the last year with our club, his involvement with the United States national team program has helped him improve as a professional. We’re excited that Omar will have the chance to learn in a top professional environment like Fulham FC.” Fulham has been regarded as one of the friendliest destinations for MLS expats. Of course, the team’s most-recognized player is former New England Revolution standout Clint Dempsey. Former MLS players Eddie Johnson, Carlos Bocanegra and Brian McBride have also worn Fulham’s white shirt. Salgado has also been in camp with the U.S. U-23 program.
