The club has not commented on the deal, but it is normal protocol not to publicly comment on a player until a signature has been placed on a contract. Pinto said he is leaving Chile on Sunday with his agent in tow. Yashir Pinto For FCE, this would be the highest-profile international signing the club has made to date. With Edmonton’s large Chilean community, Pinto also gives the team a marketing tool for one of the most influential ethnic fan bases in the city. In 2010, FCE played Colo-Colo in a friendly at Commonwealth Stadium. Pinto spent the previous season at Chilean second-division side Nublense, on loan from Colo-Colo.
