Former Chilean U-20 forward and Colo-Colo product Yashir Pinto has confirmed through his Twitter account that “if all goes well,” he would join FC Edmonton as early as Monday.
The club has not commented on the deal, but it is normal protocol not to publicly comment on a player until a signature has been placed on a contract.
Pinto said he is leaving Chile on Sunday with his agent in tow.

For FCE, this would be the highest-profile international signing the club has made to date. With Edmonton’s large Chilean community, Pinto also gives the team a marketing tool for one of the most influential ethnic fan bases in the city.
In 2010, FCE played Colo-Colo in a friendly at Commonwealth Stadium.
Pinto spent the previous season at Chilean second-division side Nublense, on loan from Colo-Colo.

With this I am starting the “If he wins the NASL golden boot we get him naturalized and capped for Canada” petition!
