When one of the poster boys of U.S. soccer scores a hat trick, the player-of-the-week vote loses most of its intrigue.

Sticking out like sore thumbs on the roster are FC Dallas academy defender Eric Davies and Philadelphia Union Academy forward Matt Greer. Both play for American clubs. Neither were part of the Canadian team at CONCACAF qualifying.

“When you dominate the whole match the way we did and you don’t win it hurts a bit,” he admitted. “But our level of performance was very high tonight Justin and Sanna were on fire all game and I think both wingers are pretty tired tonight because they were going for the goal all game long."
