Piette, Clarke score as Canada edges U.S. at U-20 Marbella Cup By Charles Posted on October 10, 2012 Comments Off on Piette, Clarke score as Canada edges U.S. at U-20 Marbella Cup 0 678 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Samuel Piette: Opening goal Canada’s U-20 men’s team scalped the United States Wednesday at the Marbella Cup in Spain. A first-half goal from Samuel Piette and the winning marker in the 82nd minutes from Vancouver Whitecap Caleb Clarke gave coach Nick Dasovic and his troops the win. While this tournament is preparation for the U-20 team as it looks forward to next year and U-20 World Cup qualifying, wins like this are major feathers in the cap for Dasovic. Dasovic currently has a large lead over the field when it comes to The11.ca’s fan vote on who should take over as FC Edmonton’s next coach (CLICK HERE to ADD YOUR VOTE). Clarke scored for Canada just two weeks after his sister, Summer, scored for Canada at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan. To have a brother and sister score for Canada at separate tourneys — no matter what age level — is worthy of note, and could become a decent trivia question down the road.
