Nyassi scores for Impact in draw with Atlas By Steven Sandor Posted on January 26, 2012 Comments Off on Nyassi scores for Impact in draw with Atlas 0 729 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter The Montreal Impact got a goal from Sanna Nyassi, and wrapped up the team’s pre-season tour of Mexico with a 1-1 draw against Club Atlas. The Impact finished with a win, a draw and a loss to the Mexican sides — which included Chivas Guadalajara and Estudiantes Tecos, who take up the bottom two spots in the current Mexican League table. Also in there was a 7-0 win over Iteso University. Nyassi, who had the honour of replacing the injured Conor Casey in the Colorado Rapids’ front line after the elite striker went down with injury, converted a set-up from ageless veteran Eduardo Sebrango, who is looking to crack the MLS roster after coming out of retirement to play in NASL in 2011. “My speed is my weapon on the field and it helps me a lot,” Nyassi was quoted on the Impact’s Twitter feed after the game. Atlas did not provide any news on the friendly. Donovan Ricketts started the game in goal for the Impact and Evan Bush took over in the second half. While Bush, who was NASL’s top keeper in 2011, gave up the equalizing goal, he was also credited with stopping an Atlas breakaway chance. Nelson Rivas came out of the game in the 29th minute, ahead of the scheduled halftime break. But the Impact has yet to give any update on the former Inter Milan defender
