The team announced Tuesday that midfielder Wandrille Lefevre and defender Maxim Tissot have made the team’s MLS roster. They join academy product Karl Ouimette, who made the jump during the 2012 season. Tissot was a finalist for the CSL player of the year award in 2012, and then followed it up with some solid appearances at the recently completed Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic, which the Impact won. “We are very pleased to have signed both of these young players from our system; both of whom are athletes with a strong attachment to the jersey,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis in a release issued by the team.“These two players have worked hard, have been consistent and have performed well throughout the camp and have earned a spot with the pros. Lefevre has shown himself to be a step above the rest of the U21 group, while Tissot is a rare left back who can be a key element to the club in the future. Now, it’s up to them to continue their progression, but we have to be patient with them to ensure that we don’t rush their development.” While both players are being pegged as pieces for the future, the clock is ticking on Lefevre. He’s already 24 years of age. The France-born player came to the Impact’s development program after a solid CIS career at the University of Montreal. At 24, he’s already well into his development curve, and is older than NCAA prospects who come into the league. Lefevre made two appearances for the Impact in its final NASL season, in 2011.
