Injured Josh Simpson hasn’t returned to training with Young Boys’ first team By Steven Sandor Posted on January 6, 2013 Comments Off on Injured Josh Simpson hasn’t returned to training with Young Boys’ first team 0 619 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Josh Simpson The players of BSC Young Boys have reunited after their winter break, as they have begun preparations for the second half of the Swiss League season. But Canadian midfielder Josh Simpson isn’t with them. Simpson has yet to rejoin the first team — even for training — since he suffered a badly broken leg in the final game of the 2011-12 season. After setting up the first goal of the match, Simspon suffered a broken tibia, fibula and ankle in a 2-1 win over FC Basel. Simpson was lost to the Canadian national team, which badly missed his presence on the wing, as it crashed out of World Cup qualifying after the second round of CONCACAF playdowns. Simpson has yet to return to action for his Berne-based club. When he was hurt in May, the club said it expected him to miss eight months of action. In a statement released by the team over the weekend, the club announced that Simpson is still on the injured list and continues to train on his own, away from the team.
