I’m so happy! Now back with so much enthusiasm to my new adventure with my team the Montreal Impact! Thank you all for the support!” wrote Di Vaio on his official Twitter account Friday morning. Di Vaio had been charged by the Italian Football Federation for not reporting an attempt to fix a May, 2011 match between his side, Bologna, and Bari.Di Vaio maintained that he had no knowledge that fixers had targeted the match and didn’t discuss fixing with the players who had faced more serious charges. Di Vaio can now resume his MLS playing career. He has one goal so far this season for the Impact, but remains a fan favourite.
