Can TFC trialist Hall rediscover his stellar NCAA form? The Bermudan keeper was signed in 2011 by lower-division English side Northampton Town. But he became a free agent after his one-year contract expired this summer and the club decided not to bring him back. He made just three senior appearances for Northampton Town during his time in England. Hall got his first win in England this past January 7, when Northampton beat Morecambe 2-1. That came about because No. 1 keeper Shane Higgs was out with injury. But, in his audition, Hall couldn’t snatch away the No. 1 job. With Stefan Frei out with a long-term injury, TFC’s goalkeeping corps consists of Milos Kocic and teenager Quillan Roberts. But Hall was once one of the NCAA’s top goalkeeping prospects. In 2009, while he was still at Quinnipiac College, he was scouted by Charlton Athletic and turned down a chance to trial with that club — opting to stay in school. In 2009, Hall made 121 saves, more than any other keeper in the NCAA. But playing for lower-seeded schools makes you all but invisible for the MLS SuperDraft, which tends to be the domain of the big California schools, Akron, Saint Louis, the Big Ten and the ACC.
