As Major League Soccer clubs get ready for the opening of the July transfer window, we can expect to see a lot of roster moves.

On Wednesday, the Whitecaps cut reserve defender Adam Clement. On Thursday, Toronto FC announced that it had waived defender Logan Emory.

Emory, who TFC plucked from USL’s Orlando City in training camp ahead of the 2012 season, was making just $48,400 this year. But while the salary saving is negligible, it does open a roster spot for a potential move.

Emory made a total of 29 appearances for the Reds in MLS and Cup play over the past season and a half. But Emory’s role has diminished, and he became yet another MLS victim of pre-July housekeeping.

Emory spent the 2011 season in NASL with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
