Whether credit for the 1-0 win should go to midfielder Sanna Nyassi, or the 75-strong group of supporters who made Gillette Stadium sound like Saputo Stadium is a question of debate, but there is no doubt that the Impact stole one tonight as it won its second road game of the year.

Andrew Wenger, playing up top in place of Marco Di Vaio, presently in Italy facing questions in that country’s most recent game-fixing scandal, gave the Impact a one-goal lead moments before the interval.

After 80 minutes of 0-0 soccer, Saturday’s match between the Philadelphia Union and Montreal Impact exploded with three goals in the final 10 minutes and change.

On Wednesday, after the The 11 contacted Doncaster Rovers for their reaction to Chimbonda’s appearance in Canada, the club's spokesperson asked if there was any proof of Chimbonda’s presence at the Impact camp. Steve Uttley, Doncaster’s media manager, said “he is signed with us till the transfer window.”

Shaun Saiko is the lone Canadian to make the NASL’s year end best XI. Saiko, who led his hometown FC Edmonton in scoring, was the only member of the Eddies to make the team, though defender Paul Hamilton was nominated.
