Impact promotes Crepeau to MLS roster By Steven Sandor Posted on March 5, 2013 Comments Off on Impact promotes Crepeau to MLS roster 0 705 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, who just returned to the Impact after playing in goal for Canada’s U-20 team at the CONCACAF Championships, has been moved from the Academy to the senior team. Crepeau joined Wandrille Lefevre, Maxim Tissot and Karl Ouimette as Montreal Impact academy prospects who have made the move to MLS. But don’t expect to see Crepeau in an MLS match any time soon. Just as TFC did with teenager Quillan Roberts, Crepeau has been moved up to the big club in order to train with the big club and gain valuable experience, but he won’t be pushing for playing time just yet. This will give Crepeau plenty of time to learn. “We are very proud to announce that Maxime has joined the team as our third keeper,” said sporting director Nick De Santis in a release issued by the Impact.“He’s shown over his time with us a maturity beyond his years and his performances at the international level have always been good. He has the potential to be a good player in MLS and he will be working with two solid goalkeepers (Troy Perkins and Evan Bush) that will help his development in all technical aspects as well as on how to become a true professional. I also want to congratulate Youssef Dahha for his excellent work with Maxime.” Canada was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship with Crepeau in goal — and failed to qualify for the U-20 World Cup.
