Tuesday. The game was the first of two the Canadian youngsters will play against Los Angeles-based MLS opposition this week. The Canadians will face the Los Angeles Galaxy on March 4. Chivas started a strong lineup, which included MLS veteran Jimmy Conrad, U.S. national teamer Heath Pearce and first-round draft pick Zarek Valentin on the back line. The team started the game with two ex-Galaxy players up front; veteran striker Alan Gordon and teenager Tristan Bowen, who came out of the Galaxy’s youth program but, rather surprisingly, was dealt away in the off-season. Gordon hit the post in the 26th minute, but that’s as close as the Goats would come to scoring. Drew Beckie, a Regina native who now lives in Colorado and plays in the PDL with the Real Colorado Foxes, got the opening goal, heading home off a set piece. Canada sealed the win six minutes from time on a counterattack. Edmonton’s Randy Edwini-Bonsu, part of the Vancouver Whitecaps setup, slotted home.
