FC Edmonton matches to be broadcast on Shaw Cable 29 Apr 2011 FC Edmonton's home-game broadcasts will be available on Shaw TV. The team will not only be webcasting its home games on its website, as per NASL mandate, fans will also be able to watch matches on channel in the Edmonton area. Tape-delayed games will air Saturdays at 1 p.m. local time. Foote Field, the team’s home stadium, doesn’t have the facilities to do a live TV feed, but can accommodate live webcasts. The on-air crew will see the CBC’s Gareth Hampshire calling the play-by-play and, ahem, The 11’s Steven Sandor providing the colour.

The club is hosting a meet-the-team event at Sports Central Bar and Grill (9221 34 Ave.) Monday at 6 p.m. Edmonton products Shaun Saiko and Chris Lemire, Trinidad and Tobago striker Conrad Smith and coach Harry Sinkgraven will be on hand to meet fans. FC Edmonton’s new all-white road jerseys will be available for sale for the first time at the event; here’s to hoping that the new home blue strip also is at the event. On Tuesday, Toronto FC coach Aron Winter and Sinkgraven will attend a press conference at Commonwealth Stadium. For the pair, it will be a reunion of sorts. The two took classes together to get their coaching certifications in the Netherlands.
USL wants Canadian franchises, but will wait on the CSA 21 Apr 2011 Holt said the USL won’t talk expansion until the Canadian Soccer Association ends its moratorium on approving expansion teams into U.S.-based pro league outside of Major League Soccer.
