At its meeting in Ottawa, delegates voted to begin the process for a new governance structure for the CSA. The new system is to be phased in beginning in 2012, and reduces the number of members on the board from 20 to 13.
Ontario dominates the Canadian U-17 squad 4 Feb 2011 The Canadian Soccer Association revealed the names of the players who will attend the Feb. 5-13 evaluation camp in Sunrise, Fla. The roster illustrates the mountain we have to climb in Canada before we can truly have a well-stocked Canadian program. Of the 23 players on the roster (included below), 13 came from Ontario. One came from Manitoba. Just two from Alberta. And, shockingly, defender Daniel Stanese is the lone representative on the team from B.C.

MLS All-Star conflict with CONCACAF Champions League sends the wrong international message 1 Feb 2011 Major League Soccer continually talks about the importance of having its teams succeed in international competition but, once again, the league has placed its All-Star game in direct conflict with the CONCACAF Champions League. MLS announced that it will host its annual All-Star Game July 27 at Red Bull Arena. But, as has been the case with the last two All-Star events, it clashes with the preliminary round of the CONCACAF Champions League. CONCACAF has already slated July 26-28 as the window for the first legs of the opening round.
