New England Revolution forward Diego Fagundez is all of 18 years old, and he’s already showing North American soccer fans that he might be one of the best homegrown prospects any of the MLS teams have brought up through their systems.

The Impact has added another young Canadian to the roster.

After John Smits put in a man-of-the-match performance Sunday, allowing 10-man FC Edmonton to escape its home date against the Tampa Bay Rowdies with a 0-0 draw, coach Colin Miller that Lance Parker is in no danger of losing his No. 1 job.

The city was named one of four hosts for the 2014 tourney. The announcement was made at BMO Field ahead of Canada’s sold-out women’s match Sunday against the United States. The other host cities are Edmonton, Montreal and Moncton.
