At halftime, TFC defied critics by being tied 2-2 with a team that hasn’t lost at home this season. But, by the 64-minute mark of the game, it was all but over.

Aron Winter outmanaged and outcoached Arena in the second leg. Winter made the right decisions, while Arena struggled to adjust. And the coaching decisions could very well have been the deciding factors in the quarters.

Koevermans collected his first two home pitch goals to lead the Reds to a 2-1 win Saturday over the Colorado Rapids. Koevermans has now scored six goals in seven league games since signing with TFC as a Designated Player on June 29.

For Toronto FC fans, there was the joy of beating Columbus for the first time. And, for neutral fans, there was a fantastic spectacle a 4-2 win for the Reds— a relief in a weekend of non-competitive matches from England (and likely more to come from Spain).

"I went to pick it up like I've picked up a million balls like that," Kocic said. "It was wet grass and then all of a sudden dry grass I was sliding on and the dry grass flipped me over the ball....It's unacceptable, obviously. The mistake shouldn't happen but that's sport, what can I say?"

After pulling off back-to-back wins over Vancouver Whitecaps and a third straight Nutrilite Canadian Championship last week, Toronto unraveled on Wednesday night in a 5-0 loss to New York at Red Bull Arena.
