For the second straight game, Darel Russell was the key figure behind the final goal of a 2-2 Toronto FC draw. This week, however, Russell exchanged goat horns for what may be an MLS Goal of the Week award by scoring a spectacular equalizer in the 90th minute to steal a point for his side against first-place FC Dallas.

Darel Russell has only been a member of Toronto FC for a few weeks, but he joins an ever-growing list of Reds’ players whose late-game mistakes have cost the team points.

“It wasn’t the kind of second half we wanted to have,” admitted captain Davy Arnaud.” If we’re going to be honest with ourselves, we weren’t in the second half, it was our worst half of the year, I would say, but we still came out with three points and in MLS you have to grind out results sometimes. That’s just the way it is. At the end of the day we leave with another win.

“We’ve been doing that one-time passing at training a lot,” Koffie said following Saturday’s win. “To do one-time passing, you have to move, and know what to do before the ball comes.”
