A poor loonie was blamed for the departure of the NBA’s Vancouver Grizzlies to Memphis, Tennessee. The NHL’s Canucks have been hampered in the past by a poor dollar. But, in the case of the MLS Whitecaps, the league’s central control of contracts and revenue could help insulate them from the dollar’s demise

And the question will be, if Leiweke is chewed up by the Toronto sports cauldron, who could take the job without being a well-paid yes-man? Thanos, maybe?

So, how does this compare to other home winless droughts? In other leagues? In other team sports?

This is simply a statistical look at how the teams have performed. But it is compelling. Outside of the Habs, the North American sports teams have a history of slumping badly once their owners go and invest in the world’s most popular league, the EPL. And, for Red Sox fans, Avalanche fans and the like, it’s absolutely justified to have a case of little man syndrome — based on the stats.
