Just a little more than a year ago, when the United 2026 bid was made official, it felt like CONCACAF had what amounted to a sitter at its feet. A tap-in. There was no way a push to bring a World Cup to the United States, with a little help from Canada and Mexico, could fail, right?

He said there has been “tons of interest.” Word of the Canadian Premier League is not only spreading in this country, but in other parts of the world. That’s fairly impressive for a league that, as Beirne admitted in Saskatchewan,  “hasn’t been announced yet”

For one, well, FIFA rules state that, for senior tournaments, all games have to be played on the same type of surface. So, of COURSE that means Mexican and American venues are going to have to make sure they’ve got artificial turf to match the Canadian standard! Yes! I can’t wait to hear droning international-feed commentators moaning about how brutal the turf temperature is at Azteca Stadium during an afternoon game in July.

The Vancouver Southsiders posted this open letter on Tuesday night. They have stated that they aren't asking their members to boycott away games in the United States, but there won't be any "Caps on Tour" organized trips across the border as long as the current U.S. restrictions are in place.
