If you could make it through the marathon of men in suit and ties calling timeouts, the trading of GAM and TAM, the flipping of picks, you might have noticed that five Canadians were selected in the first two rounds of the 2019 MLS Superdraft.

The Impact announced three signings on Thursday. And while the signings of second-round draft pick Calum Mallace and Mexican Gienir Garcia are relevant, the story Canadian fans are going to pick up on is that the Impact have inked Canadian midfielder Evan James to a deal.

Canadian Evan James rounded out the rout, converting a cross from Miguel Montano — who spent part of last season with the Impact in its final NASL season — to make the final score 3-0 Impact.

Of the Canadian teams, Montreal made the biggest splash Tuesday, selecting two Canadians out of the four picks it made.
