With the MLS All-Star Game once again going head-to-head against the qualifying round of the CONCACAF Champions League (Toronto FC will face Real Esteli at the same time the All-Stars will take on Manchester United), two of the players selected in the First XI — Kasey Keller and Brek Shea — will be question marks for the game.

Now that Toronto FC has the Canadian title, it will host Nicaraguan reps Real Esteli in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League preliminary stage on July 27, the exact same time that the MLS All-Stars will take on Manchester United at Red Bull Arena. Hmm. A game that means something in an international competition or an exhibition match? Well, that’s a no-brainer, right?

Make it three for Toronto FC. The Reds recorded a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC Saturday in the second leg of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship final, giving TFC a 3-2 aggregate victory in the tournament and their third consecutive Voyageurs Cup.

One of the most controversial figures in the soccer world went out quietly Monday, as Warner resigned from all of his posts — including his vice presidency of FIFA and his presidency of CONCACAF — in exchange for the continued presumption of innocence.
