FC Edmonton coach Colin Miller will have the reins of the Canadian men’s national team when it takes on Denmark and the United States this January. Canada will have a national team camp that begins Jan. 19. It plays Denmark in Tucson, Ariz. on the 26th and the United States Jan. 29 in Houston. “It has always been a privilege to represent Canada, as a player, team captain and coach, and I look forward to taking on the role of interim head coach for a second time,” said Miller in a release issued by the Eddies on Monday. “I am honoured to have been selected by the Canadian Soccer Association, and thank FC Edmonton’s organization, particularly owner Tom Fath, for its support in this process.” Miller was on the Canadian squad that played at the 1986 World Cup, played in three Gold Cups for Canada and totaled more than 60 caps in his international career. Miller was named FCE’s head coach in November, and had been scouting players in Europe before the Christmas break.
