Canada names U-20 roster for Mexican friendlies

Canadian U-20 coach Nick Dasovic has named his roster for July 6 and 8 friendlies against the Mexicans. The Canadian national team will also hold a week-long camp in Mexico, as it begins preparations to try and qualify for next year’s U-20 World Cup. Five of the prospects come from the Vancouver Whitecaps residency — while one, Bryce Alderson, comes from the Whitecaps’ MLS roster. TFC Academy sends four players to the team, and Oscar Cordon, is listed as part of TFC’s MLS roster. The Montreal Impact and FC Edmonton programs each sent a player each to the team. But, interestingly, both of those players are former TFC Academy prospects. Forward Stefan Vukovic was released in the spring and is on trial with the Impact Academy, while defender Dino Gardner left TFC Academy last season. He signed with FC Edmonton in June.
