Former Toronto FC coach Nick Dasovic, who had been scouting for the team, has left the club.

Toronto FC announced that Dasovic and the club had “mutually” come to an agreement to part ways.

“I want to first congratulate Nick Dasovic on his upcoming induction into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame,” said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter in a release issued by the club. “I’d also like to thank Nick for all of his contributions to Toronto FC, from his work in the Academy to the first team and most recently as a scout for our club.”

“Over the course of my time at Toronto FC I was fortunate to work with a lot of great people,” Dasovic was quoted in the same release. “It just became time to move on and that happens. I’d like to thank the management staff and everyone I worked with in Toronto and wish them well for the future.”

Dasovic had the thankless task of taking over the reins of an out-of-contention TFC side with six weeks left in the 2010 season. Dasovic was named to the job after Preki was chopped from the coaching position in the same purge that claimed director of soccer Mo Johnston.

There were many rumours that Dasovic wasn’t going to be back when Winter was named the club’s director of soccer, but TFC soon announced that the future Canadian Soccer Hall of Famer would come back to the club in some capacity.
